Bio
Jordan Ellis brings more than a decade of coaching experience to the Chaffey College Women's Water Polo program as she steps into the role of head coach. Her coaching journey reflects a deep commitment to student-athlete development, competitive excellence and academic success.
Ellis spent seven years as an assistant coach under longtime mentor Jen Spalding at Citrus College, where she helped guide the Owls to multiple postseason appearances. During that time, she played an integral role in the program's growth and consistency, overseeing player development, recruiting and the academic progress of student-athletes. She also served as an assistant coach at the University of La Verne, gaining valuable experience at the NCAA Division III level.
Throughout her coaching career, Ellis has been recognized for her ability to cultivate a positive team culture and maximize individual potential. Her leadership has contributed to numerous all-conference selections, transfer-ready athletes and student-athletes achieving success in and out of the pool. She continues to emphasize a holistic approach to athletic development that values balance, resilience and teamwork.
Before beginning her coaching career, Ellis was a decorated student-athlete. She began her collegiate career at Chaffey College, where she was named First Team All-South Coast Conference, earned All-American honors and served as team captain during her sophomore season. Her accomplishments were later honored with induction into the Chaffey College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019. After transferring to Iona University, Ellis competed at the NCAA Division I level, where she again demonstrated strong leadership as team captain during her senior year.
Ellis earned her associate's degree from Chaffey College, her bachelor's degree from Iona University, and a Master of Science in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University. She credits her academic and athletic journey with shaping her coaching philosophy, one that emphasizes hard work, academic excellence and personal growth.
A Southern California native, Ellis enjoys spending time with her husband, Kyle, their daughter, and their two English cocker spaniels, Leo and Frankie. Outside of coaching, she loves traveling, trying new foods and exploring new adventures with her family.
Ellis is honored to return to her alma mater to lead the Chaffey College Women's Water Polo program. Her vision is to continue building the Panthers into one of the top programs in the state, fostering excellence, integrity and opportunity for all student-athletes competing in the new state-of-the-art Chaffey College Aquatic Center.
