Panthers Return for Round 3 Against the Wolverines
The Chaffey College women's volleyball team battled through three competitive sets on Friday evening but fell in straight sets to San Bernardino Valley College (25–16, 25–17, 25–19) in their third Inland Empire Athletic Conference matchup of the season.
Bria Love continued her strong offensive form, leading Chaffey with 11 kills and 11 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. Emma Rhodes added five kills and three block assists, while Lauren Medina contributed four kills and four digs. Kasey Quevedo was efficient at the net, tallying two kills on four attempts, and Lailah Williams recorded a block assist and kill to help stabilize the front line.
Natalia Frausto directed the offense with 11 assists, two service aces, and 10 digs, while Madalyn Ayers-Morris added six assists and four digs. Grace Hoang led the backcourt with a team-high 14 digs and a service ace, providing steady serve receive throughout the match.
As a team, the Panthers finished with 24 assists, 15 kills, four aces, and 48 digs. The team found their offensive rhythm late, posting a .211 hitting percentage in the opening set and rallying to score 19 points in the third set.
The Panthers will host Cerro Coso College at the Sports Center on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m.
