Panthers Display Fight in Competitive Sets Against the Wolverines
The Chaffey College women's volleyball team dropped their Inland Empire Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday evening, falling in straight sets to San Bernardino Valley College (25–17, 25–17, 25–18) at the Sports Center. The Panthers showed consistent effort across all rotations and found offensive rhythm in the third set behind improved ball control and passing.
Emma Rhodes led the attack with 10 kills, while Bria Love followed with six kills and 11 digs, providing stability in both the frontcourt and backcourt. Maya Garza added four kills on six attempts for a .667 hitting percentage, and Lauren Medina contributed four kills and four digs. Natalia Frausto directed the offense with 12 assists, two aces, and 10 digs, while Madalyn Ayers-Morris added six assists and four digs to support the passing game.
Grace Hoang led the back row with a team-high 14 digs and one service ace. Rhodes had three blocks, and Lailah Williams contributed a block assist. Rachel Buck added a service ace off the bench to ignite a late rally.
As a team, Chaffey finished with 29 kills, 25 assists, and 47 digs.
The Panthers will travel and face San Bernardino Valley College for their third matchup of the season on Friday, Oct. 31, at 5 p.m.
