The Chaffey College women's soccer team opened Inland Empire Athletic Conference play with a dominating 6-0 win over Norco College at home on Tuesday afternoon. The Panthers controlled the match from start to finish, striking three times in each half to secure the victory.
Chaffey wasted no time getting on the board, as Emelyn Montes-Bueso scored in the fourth minute off an assist from Karina Parchment. The Panthers continued to apply pressure and doubled their advantage in the 40th minute when Alexa Pereida finished a pass from Gionna Diez. Just three minutes later, Diez added a goal of her own, set up by Chloe Rodriguez, to give Chaffey a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Panthers kept up the momentum after the break. In the 52nd minute, Sofia Guerrero converted on a feed from Pereida to extend the lead 4-0. Pereida struck again in the 74th minute, finishing a pass from Emma Guardron for her second goal of the day. Natalia Gonzalez capped the score in the 84th minute, slotting home off another setup from Rodriguez to make it 6-0.
Chaffey's defense, led by goalkeeper Izabella Ortiz, limited the Mustangs to no shots in the match. Oritz recorded her fourth shutout of the 2025 season.
The Panthers will return to action on Friday, September 26, when they travel to Mt. San Jacinto College for conference play. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
