Panthers Shut Out Long Beach in 3-0 Road Victory

The Chaffey College women's soccer team turned in a dominant performance on both ends of the pitch, defeating Long Beach City College 3-0 on the road. The Panthers struck twice in the opening minutes of the match and leaned on a strong defense effort and exceptional goalkeeping to secure their second straight win. 

Chaffey wasted no time getting on the board as Gionna Diez opened the scoring in the fourth minute with an unassisted strike. Just three minutes later, Karina Parchment doubled the lead with an unassisted goal to give the Panthers a commanding 2-0 advantage before the match hit the 10-minute mark.

The Panthers extended their lead after halftime when Diez tallied her second goal in the 63rd minute, finishing a setup from Parchment to put the match out of reach. Isabella Ortiz remained rock-solid in net with a remarkable nine-save shutout, turning away all nine shots on goal from the Vikings.

The Panthers will play at home against Santa Barbara City College on Friday, September 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
