Danielle Singley Named IEAC Athlete of the Week
Chaffey College sophomore guard/forward Danielle Singley has been named the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) Athlete of the Week for women's basketball for Nov. 17-22, earning the honor for the second time this season.
Singley delivered one of the strongest two-game stretches of her Chaffey career, guiding the Panthers through back-to-back overtime victories against Santa Ana College and Santa Barbara City College. The sophomore captain showcased elite two-way production, late-game composure, and leadership that proved decisive in both wins.
Singley opened the week with a milestone performance on Nov. 19 against Santa Ana, recording 21 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and three blocks in Chaffey's 64-63 overtime win. Early in the contest, she surpassed 500 career points as a Panther, marking a major achievement in her standout career. Despite heavy defensive pressure and a back-and-forth fourth quarter, Singley elevated her play in overtime, securing the win with three pressure-filled free throws in the final eight seconds to secure the one-point victory.
On Nov. 22, Singley delivered an even more dominant outing in Chaffey's 112-102 double-overtime win over Santa Barbara City College. She contributed 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds while adding four assists and a steal in 44 minutes of action. Singley was perfect from the field in both overtime periods, going 4-for-4 and scoring 12 points after regulation ended, anchoring the Panthers on both ends during the high-intensity finish.
Across the two-game stretch, Singley averaged 23 points, 14 rebounds, three and a half assists, two steals and one and a half blocks with a 41 shooting percentage, all while carrying a heavy workload through extended minutes. Her ability to control the interior, generate offense in clutch moments, and lead with confidence reaffirmed her role as one of the IEAC's premier all-around players.
Her performances were instrumental in helping Chaffey secure two of its most dramatic victories of the season and continue its strong momentum through nonconference play.
