Britt shines as Panthers move to 7-0 in conference with home win over San Bernardino

The San Bernardino Wolverines came to Chaffey for an Inland Empire Athletic Conference contest and the Panthers emerged with a 6-1 win to stay perfect in conference play.

Chaffey got on the board in the 2nd inning when freshman Mia Britt led off with a double and freshman shortstop Nevaeha Tarin followed with an RBI single.

The Wolverines tied the score in the top of the 3rd inning but that was the only run they could muster.

The Panthers answered in the bottom of the inning when sophomore center fielder Lauren Chappell doubled home sophomore outfielder Rosyvette Garcia, who had singled.

Britt again followed with a double and Tarin once again drove her in for the 3-1 lead.

In the 5th inning, Britt drilled a solo home run for the 4-1 lead.

Chaffey added a pair of runs in the 6th inning when freshmen Sadie Schaefer and Desiree Saldate each picked up RBI’s.

Freshman Bryanna Ortega picked up her 9th win of the season as she allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five.
