Panthers Compete at 3C2A SoCal Championships, Two Qualify for State Finals
The Chaffey College men's cross country team competed at the 2025 3C2A SoCal Cross Country Championships on Friday morning at the Naval Training Center Park in San Diego. Facing a deep and competitive regional field, the Panthers finished 20th overall in the team standings with a total of 567 points.
Hugo Meneses led the way for Chaffey, clocking 21:52.2. His performance marked a personal best and highlighted his steady improvement throughout the season.
Adam Espinoza followed close behind with a 22:08.9, qualifying individually for the 3C2A State Championships with a season-best performance. Rohan Weerasekera finished in 22:46.3, achieving a personal best by nearly 20 seconds, while Airic Medina crossed in 23:15.5, also notching a new personal record. Anthony Castro rounded out the Panthers' top five with a 24:58.0, and Moises Jarquin completed the course in 26:07.4, marking another personal best for Chaffey.
The Panthers' depth and consistency across their top four runners kept them competitive against several regionally ranked programs, including Cerritos College, Riverside City College, and San Bernardino Valley College.
Espinoza and Weerasekera will represent Chaffey at the 3C2A State Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Woodward Park in Fresno.
