Panthers Show Growth and Competitive Edge Throughout 2025 Season
The Panthers showed resilience and growth throughout a challenging 2025 season that featured matchups against several of the state's top-ranked programs. Chaffey averaged 9.7 goals per game while totaling 280 goals and 225 assists across 29 matches, demonstrating a balanced and increasingly dynamic offensive attack. Leading the frontline effort was sophomore center Vincent Garibay, who powered the Panthers with 79 goals, 15 steals, and an efficient 54.9% shooting percentage. Sophomore attacker Parker Black delivered one of the most complete offensive seasons on the roster, finishing with 72 goals, 24 assists, and 36 steals while shooting 52.2% across 26 matches. Sophomore utility player Thomas Skaggs added all-around support with 5 goals, 4 assists, and strong defensive positioning across 20 appearances.
Freshman attacker Evan Fleming and sophomore utility player Andrew Hinojosa added depth across the board, helping Chaffey maintain its offensive rhythm throughout the season. Fleming delivered 12 goals, 30 assists, and 14 steals in his first season, while Hinojosa contributed 11 goals, 15 assists, and a 44% shooting percentage. Their collective presence strengthened Chaffey's transition play and perimeter ball movement.
Chaffey's offense continued to make strides in efficiency, taking 675 total shots with a 41.5% shooting percentage, one of the program's top conversion rates in recent years. Freshman utility player Mario Nikolovski added 23 goals, 16 assists, and an impressive 31 steals, giving the Panthers a valuable two-way contributor. Sophomore center/utility player Wendell McIntosh added 16 goals, 16 assists, and a team-best 57.1% shooting percentage among field players with double-digit goals.
Defensively, Chaffey showed clear improvement as the season progressed. The Panthers collected 271 steals, frequently disrupting opposing possessions and generating transition opportunities. Defensive specialists such as sophomore Gabriel Zarate Ayala (11 goals, 27 assists, 26 steals), sophomore Baron Gonzalez (32 goals, 43 assists, 20 steals), and freshman Jacob Morales (6 goals, 3 assists, 11 steals) played key roles in creating pressure and converting defensive stops into counterattack chances. Gonzalez's 84 total points ranked among the team's highest overall contributions. The team also drew 137 exclusions, generating consistent power-play opportunities that boosted their scoring potential.
In the cage, goalkeepers Nolan Hanson and Adam Kirkpatrick reinforced Chaffey's defensive unit. Hanson started all 25 of his appearances, recording 208 saves and strong distribution that supported the counterattack. Kirkpatrick added 102 saves and logged four starts, giving the Panthers dependable depth at the position.
With their combination of top-end scoring, improved defensive disruption, and rising contributors, the Panthers closed the 2025 season with a strong foundation for the future.
