Alumna Jordan Ellis Joins Men’s Swimming Program as Head Coach
Jordan Ellis has returned to Chaffey College as the head coach of the men's swimming program, bringing more than a decade of coaching experience and a proven record of elevating student-athletes to success both in the pool and in the classroom. Her career reflects a deep commitment to technical development, competitive excellence and creating pathways for athletes to reach their highest potential.
Ellis spent seven years at Citrus College, including six seasons as the assistant coach of aquatics and her final year as head coach of both men's and women's swimming programs. During her tenure, she led Citrus to a milestone moment by producing the program's first 3C2A State Championships qualifier in more than a decade. Under her leadership, Kori Cunningham set new program standards by breaking all three major freestyle records: the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle.
Throughout her coaching career, Ellis has been recognized for her ability to cultivate a positive team culture and maximize individual potential. Her leadership has contributed to numerous all-conference selections, transfer-ready athletes, and student-athletes achieving success in and out of the pool. She continues to emphasize a holistic approach to athletic development that values balance, resilience and teamwork.
Before beginning her coaching career, Ellis was a decorated student-athlete. She began her collegiate career at Chaffey College, where she helped lead the Panthers to three consecutive South Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Championships (2011, 2012 and 2013), contributing significantly to the 2012 and 2013 title campaigns. Her experience as a conference champion and high-impact performer continues to shape her coaching philosophy and commitment to excellence.
Ellis earned her associate's degree from Chaffey College, her bachelor's degree from Iona University, and her Master of Science in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University. She credits her academic and athletic journey with shaping her coaching philosophy, one that emphasizes hard work, academic excellence and personal growth.
A Southern California native, Ellis enjoys spending time with her husband, Kyle, their daughter, and their two English Cocker Spaniels, Leo and Frankie. Outside of coaching, she loves traveling, trying new foods and exploring new adventures with her family.
Ellis is honored to return to her alma mater to lead the Chaffey College Men's Swimming program. Her vision is to continue building the Panthers into one of the top programs in the state, fostering excellence, integrity and opportunity for all student-athletes competing in Chaffey's new state-of-the-art Aquatic Center.
