The Chaffey College men's soccer team earned an important 2-0 victory over Norco College on Friday afternoon, using a dominant second-half performance to secure their fourth Inland Empire Athletic Conference win of the season.
After a scoreless first half marked by tight defensive play on both sides, the Panthers broke through in the 75th minute when Luis DeAnda converted a low finish from inside the box off a setup by Ryan Pruitt. Chaffey continued to press forward and doubled the lead late in the 87th minute as Alesandros Sanchez found the back of the net on a pass from Diego Garcia, sealing the win.
Goalkeeper Christian Hernandez recorded his second shutout of the season with a save in the second half, directing a composed back line that kept the Mustangs scoreless. The Panthers' midfield maintained steady control throughout the match, led by Julio Martinez and Mateo Soria, who helped sustain possession and create scoring opportunities.
With the win, Chaffey is now 4-2-1 in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference. The Panthers will travel to face San Bernardino Valley College on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 3 p.m.
