Alesandro Sanchez Named IEAC Athlete of the Week

Chaffey College freshman Alesandro Sanchez has been named the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) Athlete of the Week for men's soccer for the week of September 29-October 4.

Sanchez has been a consistent leader for the Panthers throughout the season, starting and playing every minute across 13 matches. As a defender, his composure, communication, and tactical awareness have made him a key figure in directing Chaffey's back line.

This past week, Sanchez continued to showcase his reliability and poise, helping organize the Panthers' defensive shape in a 1-1 draw against College of the Canyons and maintaining his leadership presence as the team prepares to enter conference play. His ability to read the game and distribute from the back has been instrumental in starting transitions and maintaining Chaffey's tempo.

Head Coach Christopher Araya praised Sanchez's consistency and influence, noting, "Alesandro has been a standout performer and leader for us this season. He's been a commanding presence in the back line, organizing our defense and setting the tone with his composure and competitiveness. He's more than just a defender – he's a leader for our entire team."
