Chaffey's baseball squad traveled to Desert yesterday, coming home with their first conference loss this season.
Against the Roadrunners, the Panthers could not get runners into scoring position - posting only three hits in nine innings.
Donovann Jackson gave up five hits and two runs in seven innings. Both runs came in the first inning of play off a single and a sac fly. Joshua Verkuilen pitched relief. Jackson took the loss; his 2nd this season.
The Panthers host Santa Barbara today and resume of the COD series on Thursday.
